From a humble print newspaper in 1970 to Pakistan's leading digital influence agency today. This is the story of Daily Sarhad.
Daily Sarhad is one of the oldest and most respected Urdu newspapers in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, founded in 1970 by veteran journalist Hafeez Ulfat. For more than five decades, we’ve been a trusted source of Urdu news, culture, literature, and opinion from the heart of Pakistan.
Daily Sarhad is a historic and pioneering newspaper in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan, holding a distinguished place in the region’s journalism history. It is widely recognized as the first computerized newspaper in the former North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, marking a major milestone in the digital transformation of print media in Pakistan.
The newspaper played a key role in modernizing regional journalism by shifting from traditional calligraphic writing and manual composing methods to digital computer-based newspaper composing and layout production. This transition significantly improved publishing speed, design quality, and editorial efficiency, setting new standards for the print media industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beyond.
